TENNIS LAWN TO KITCHEN GARDEN

Below the client’s Edwardian house on the edge of Dartmoor was an old unused tennis lawn. The client wanted it replaced with a kitchen garden – the sheltered site was the perfect spot.

The new design was divided into two distinct areas by a granite wall with an arched door way. The wall also incorporated a discreet clear roofed potting shed on the end for general storage.

On one side of the wall are a series of raised beds and fruit cages from Harrod Horticultural, on the other a stylish paved sitting area with a timber pergola. Facing this was an Alitex greenhouse for pottering and propagating – the client called this part of the garden his ‘happy place’.
